Learning with Zenyasa Academy

Who are Zenyasa Academy courses designed for?

Zenyasa Academy courses are created primarily for yoga teachers and teacher trainees who want to deepen their understanding, strengthen their teaching, and continue growing as students of yoga.

Depending on the subject, some courses may also be valuable for serious yoga practitioners, movement professionals, wellness professionals, and others with an interest in the material.

Each course page will tell you more about who that particular course is designed for.

Do I need to be a yoga teacher to take a course?

Not necessarily. While many Zenyasa Academy courses are designed with yoga teachers in mind, you do not need to be a registered yoga teacher to enroll unless a specific course lists that as a prerequisite.

Serious practitioners and professionals from related fields may also find many of the courses useful.

Do I need prior knowledge or experience?

That depends on the course. Some courses are designed as foundational studies and assume no previous experience with the subject. Others may build on knowledge typically gained through yoga teacher training or previous study.

Any recommended prerequisites will be clearly listed on the individual course page.

How do Zenyasa Academy courses work?

Most courses combine video lessons, written materials, guided exercises, reflection questions, and other learning activities that you can work through online.

Courses are designed to help you do more than simply memorize information. The emphasis is on understanding ideas well enough to apply them meaningfully in your own practice and teaching.

Are the courses self-paced?

Many Zenyasa Academy courses are available in a self-paced format, allowing you to move through the material according to your own schedule.

Some courses may also be offered periodically as guided live cohorts. The available learning options will always be listed on the individual course page.

What is a guided cohort?

A guided cohort allows you to move through a course alongside a group of other students over a set period of time.

Depending on the course, a cohort may include live check-ins, discussion, Q&A, practical exploration, or opportunities to apply course concepts together in real time.

The underlying course material is generally the same as the self-paced version, but the cohort adds structure, community, and live support.

Do all courses include live sessions?

No. Some courses are fully self-paced, while others may offer optional or scheduled live cohort experiences.

If live sessions are included with a course, the format and schedule will be clearly described before you enroll.

Continuing Education

Do Zenyasa Academy courses qualify for Yoga Alliance continuing education?

Jason is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), and most courses offered through Zenyasa Academy are designed to qualify for Yoga Alliance continuing education credit.

Occasionally, Zenyasa Academy may offer courses or programs that fall outside Yoga Alliance’s approved continuing education categories. When that happens, the individual course page will clearly indicate whether continuing education hours are available.

How do I receive my continuing education certificate?

When you successfully complete an eligible course, you’ll receive a certificate documenting your continuing education hours.

You can use that certificate when reporting your continuing education to Yoga Alliance or for your own professional records.

Do all Zenyasa Academy courses offer continuing education hours?

Not necessarily. Many courses are designed with Yoga Alliance continuing education in mind, but eligibility may vary depending on the subject and format.

The individual course page will always indicate whether continuing education hours are available.

Enrollment & Course Access

How long will I have access to a course?

Most self-paced course enrollments include ongoing access so that you can return to the material later for review.

Specific access terms will be listed on the individual course page.

Where a course is described as including lifetime access, this means access for as long as that course remains available through Zenyasa Academy and is subject to the Zenyasa Academy Terms of Use.

Can I take a course if I live outside the United States?

Yes. Zenyasa Academy courses are offered online and can be taken from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.

Keep in mind that live sessions, when offered, will be scheduled in a specific time zone, so international students should check the listed meeting times before enrolling in a guided cohort.

What equipment or software do I need?

You’ll need a reliable internet connection and a computer, tablet, or other device capable of accessing the course platform and playing online video.

For courses with live sessions, you may also need access to a video-conferencing platform such as Zoom.

Any special materials or equipment required for a particular course will be listed before enrollment.

What happens if I miss a live cohort session?

Policies may vary by course.

Whenever possible, live sessions may be recorded or supplemented with other materials, but attendance expectations and recording availability will be clearly explained before you enroll in a guided cohort.

Policies & Support

What is your refund policy?

Refund and cancellation policies vary depending on the course format.

Self-paced courses are non-refundable once course access has been granted. For guided cohorts, cancellations made at least 7 days before the cohort begins are eligible for a full refund; cancellations made less than 7 days before the start date but before course access is granted are eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds are available once course access has been granted.

Please see the Terms of Use for complete details.

What if I have accessibility needs?

Zenyasa Academy aims to make its courses as accessible and usable as reasonably possible.

If you have an accessibility need that may affect your ability to participate in a course, please get in touch before enrolling or as soon as possible afterward so we can discuss what accommodations may be available.

What if I have a technical problem or a question about my course?

If you have trouble accessing your course, using the learning platform, or understanding where to find something, please contact Zenyasa Academy for support.

If your question is about the course content itself, you may also have opportunities to ask questions through the course platform or during live sessions, depending on the course.
